Steps, Not Ladders

A note on progress as faithful next steps rather than status ladders.

Core idea

Ladders make life feel like a vertical contest. Steps make life feel like a path. The ladder asks who is above. The step asks what is next.

Harmony is built step by step because alignment cannot be faked at scale. It has to be practiced in decisions small enough to complete.

The path

Confusion is not failure. It is a signal to slow down and observe. Clarity is not certainty. It is enough light for the next faithful action.

Action is the experiment. Compounding is what happens when aligned action is repeated long enough to become capacity.

How to apply this

Write the ladder you are secretly climbing. Then translate it into the next step on the trail.

The step should be concrete enough to finish in less than a week.

I just read Ryan Caradonna's field note called Steps, Not Ladders. Help me convert one vague ambition into the next 3 faithful steps. Ask me what is confusing, what is clear, and what action would compound.
